If you'll be moving to the Omaha area, you might want to check out the web sites listed below. Official site of the Omaha Public Schools. The site offers links to all the schools in Omaha, but doesn't offer any school ranking information. A great site for local, regional and national news, as well as classified ads, chat forums, and US West Dex info. This site is owned and managed by the Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska's largest local news publication. Tons of great links, but also a very high-traffic site, so downloads may be slow on some computers. The official site of the Omaha Children's Museum. Includes information on workshops, outreach programs, Family Night Out, field trips and sponsor exhibits. Detailed Information on the partnership of public and private interests to revitalize the Midtown District. Includes special events and economic development information. No, it's not Broadway, but it is the nation's largest community playhouse organization, offering a diverse palette of dramatic and musical shows. Henry Fonda started here, so you know it's got to be good! Get season and current production info here! Omaha boasts a zoo second to none, with several world-class exhibits, including a new aquarium and the world's largest indoor rain forest. Sponsored by the Greater Omaha Convention and Visitor's Bureau, so much of the content is geared towards business travelers and generating increased sightseeing in Nebraska, although there is a section on relocation. You may find the sections on lodging, dining and shopping helpful during your moving process. Public information on insurance, legal, financial and tax issues affecting Nebraskans. Also has an updated road conditions section. State tax forms are available for download from this site. A site sponsored by the Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism. Holds the same sort of information as www.visitomaha.com, but not in as much detail. Recommended only if you are relocating within Nebraska but not in the metro Omaha area. You can find out about the Omaha Symphony's popular MasterWorks and SuperPops series, as well as other program offerings. Compete ticket purchase information and schedule of concerts is available here.
